Trying to clinch the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys were able to defeat the struggling New York Giants 21-6 Sunday at Metlife Stadium.

Mike Glennon did not have what it takes in his third start. Glennon struggled from the start, throwing an interception to Cowboys corner Jourdan Lewis in the first quarter which led to an Ezekiel Eillot touchdown. Glennon proceeded to lead an unwatchable offense throwing for 99 passing yards and three interceptions and was eventually benched for Jake Fromm. Andrew Thomas was the one bright spot of the Giants offense, holding potential Defensive Rookie of the Year Micah Parsons to zero pressures and zero sacks. Lorenzo Carter finally had a breakout game for the Giants securing two sacks and two tackles for a loss. Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz was Dak Prescott’s favorite target, racking in eight catches for 67 yards and a touchdown. Cowboys defensive back Malik Hooker was the focal point on defense getting 6 tackles and an interception.

The Giants were very sloppy, committing six penalties for 34 yards. Second year tackle Matt Peart had two false start penalties which ended a Giants drive. The Giants had terrible mental errors dropping passes and missing blocking assignments that prevented the offense from doing anything. The Cowboys committed six penalties for 45 yards, but it did not affect them as much because they capitalized on their opportunities. Giants wideout Sterling Shepard unfortunately tore his achilles in the 4th quarter ending his season.

The Cowboys defense has been getting better and better every week becoming one of the best. They forced four turnovers for the third straight game. According to ESPN, Trevon Diggs said, “We’re the best defense.” Diggs has been a big part of the defense with a league high 10 interceptions on the year. According to ESPN, Demarcus Lawrence said, "It's amazing just to be on a team with a strong defense, it doesn't get any better than that." Lawrence was a key part forcing a fumble and making two plays that led to 15 points.
