The Nets must limit Trae Young’s three-point potential when they face the Hawks on December 10th in Georgia’s State Farm Arena.

Some star players on the Nets are James Harden, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Iriving, and Joe Harris. Harden was a three time scoring champion. In 2009-2010 he was named all rookie. During 2017 and 2018 he was the MVP. Durant was also named MVP in the finals and was the scoring champ in 2013-2014. Durant was an NBA two time champ. Irving was a seven time all star in the 2016 NBA championship and In 2013-2014 was the all star MVP and in 2011-2012, he was the all rookie. Harris has been playing for seven years and has built up a high percentage from three pointers in which gave him the highest percentage from threes last year.

When asked about how the Nets will look this season, Harden said, “We’ve shown some signs of a really good team. We’re nowhere near where we want to be.”

The main strategies to expect from the Hawks would be to let  Young take a lot of threes forcing the defense to play up so he can drive to the hoop. Defensively, the Nets will need to  play disciplined and not foul Young, giving him easy points at the free throw line. Durant and Harden need to score and set up their teammates for easy shots if they want to dominate. Key player Harris is injured so Patty Mills, who is in the top five for three point percentage this year will have to continue to step up like he has been doing in the past few games during Harris’s absence.

The Hawks  strengths are high three pointer percentage scoring and rebounding. They are in the top ten in these categories making them one of the best offensive teams in the league. The Hawks weakness is defense and they are a bottom ten team in steals and blocks.

In previous games between the Hawks and the Nets, Brooklyn beat the Hawks 117-108 last month. During the game the nets made 22 of 28 three pointers and the Hawks  made 13 of 35 three pointers. They both had the equal turnovers and  are both pretty much evenly matched.

Pick:Nets 115-109
