MEET RILEY WENDLING

    Riley Wendling is a 15 year old girl who goes to Jefferson Township Highschool and has a very bad obsession with One Direction. One Direction was a boy band from the UK that started back in 2010. The members of the group were Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik. This band quickly became popular in 2011 and only stepped up from there. After making 5 record breaking albums, one of the band members decided to quit which caused the band to quickly split up. I asked Riley when the obsession started and she told me back in 2010.  She saw the “What Makes You Beautiful” music video for the first time and was immediately hooked, mostly because of Niall Horan. When I brought up the big split up Wendling said, “I didn’t go to school when I heard and I was heartbroken.” After countless rumors about the band ending the hiatus in 2020, Wendling was very emotional to hear the news, only later to find out it was nothing more than a rumor.
