The Dallas Cowboys high powered offense is ready to be tested again against Washington’s high strung defense. The NFC East rivals are set to face off on Sunday at FedEx Field.

Expect the Cowboys offense to continue their attempt at establishing a run game early on in the game. However if this fails for the Cowboys, expect them to go to the pass game almost exclusively and almost abandon the run game. Expect Washington's defense to come to play on Sunday and shut down the Cowboys run game.

Dak Prescott of the Cowboys told ESPN that “It's huge, we know it's important we've got to win this division we've got to continue to establish who we are and who we are in this division we've got Washington.”

The Cowboys strengths are their high powered offense and their ability to get takeaways on defense. Weaknesses include their passing defense which often finds themselves getting caught on the wrong end of big plays and their run defense which is not as strong as previous seasons.

Washington’s strength is their defense which is what helped achieve all of the success they received last season. One of their weaknesses is their ability to put points on the board. Their offense is lackluster at most times and struggles for the most part. Despite this, another strength of theirs is their quarterback Taylor Heneike. He has the ability to keep drives going and extend plays for the team.

The last time the two teams played each other was on Thanksgiving of 2020 with Washington winning with a final score of 41-16, however this was a Cowboys team without Prescott and a much worse defense. Finally both teams currently sit at Cowboys: 8-4 Washington: 6-6.

Ultimately this game has massive implications for the fate of the NFC East and will be exciting to watch.
